UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch Full Fight Card Announced

Today, UFC Managing Director of International Development, Marshall Zelaznik, officially announced the UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch event to be held on Feb. 27 in Sydney at Acer Arena.

According to our friends at MMA Weekly, Zelaznik also openly discussed the organization’s plans to continue holding events in Australia, pinpointing the recent elections in the state of Victoria and the possibility of the promotion moving to Melbourne for the next Australian, pending legislation for sanctioning of the sport.

Both main event fighters, B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch, were present at the press conference announcing the event. Also reported to have been there was a “who’s who” of Australian fighters, with George Sotiropoulos, Kyle Noke, James Te Huna, and Anthony Perosh all present, as each will compete on the show.

The promotion’s first trip to Australia was with UFC 110, and was an immediate sellout. Tickets have just gone on sale for the event and another quick sellout it expected.
