Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Adam McKay Working On Rap Album

News, Projects

Step Brothers and Anchorman director Adam McKay recently offered a hint to his next project on Twitter:

Are we currently working on a Step Bros rap album? Yup.

While many thought the director may have been joking, later tweets confirm that he was serious and he and his team they have hired a famous unnamed producer to work on the album.

For those who have not seen the absurd yet wildly funny Step Brothers, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly star as two feuding men-children whose parents marry. The two’s hatred of each other turns to admiration when they discover the two have plenty in common — including their love for rap. Prestige Worldwide is a rap venture the two concoct during the movie. It looks like we’ll finally get a full length album from Prestige Worldwide sometime this year.

This news isn’t earth shattering by any stretch of the imagination but it remains undeniably cool. Your guess is as good as mine as to how the album will be released or marketed but I think it’s a fairly good assumption that Funny or Die…, McKay and Ferrell’s comedy website, will have some role.
