News

Phillips doesn’t even have to move to far after being fired by the Cowboys earlier this season.

The Houston Texans announced that they have hired former Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips to be their new Defensive Coordinator. Phillips contract is reportedly worth $2.1 million over three years making him the highest paid D-Coordinator in the league.

Phillips will be tasked with fixing one of this season’s worst defenses. The Texans finished 30th in yards allowed per game and dead last against the pass.

Phillips has talent to work with on the defense with last years Defensive Rookie of the Year Brian Cushing, Pro-Bowler Demeco Ryans, former first overall draft pick Mario Williams and numerous other high round draft picks.
