Once the dawn finishes breaking, Robert Pattinson has his next project booked. The start of The Twilight Saga will star in Cosmopolis, the Don DeLillo novel adaptation that David Cronenberg wrote and will direct.
Cronenberg, who has done edgy adaptations in the past (like J.G. Ballard’s Crash), directs Pattinson in a study of capitalism in a futuristic metropolis. Pattinson will play Eric Packer, a financial wunderkind, who bets his entire fortune against the yen on a tumultuous day. Such a decision puts him in the crosshairs for assassination.
The majority of the novel takes place in the limousine that transports Packer from place to place during a single day.
Robert Pattinson is an ardent supportor of Cronenberg’s past work, so hopefully this means that the director can help elevate Pattinson’s career after the Twilight films wrap. Because we know that Remember Me did little to help his visibility as an actor.
Before the first half of the Breaking Dawn finale rolls into theaters, Pattinson can next be seen with Reese Witherspoon and Christoph Waltz in Fox 2000’s adaptation of the Sara Gruen novel Water For Elephants, arriving in theaters on April 15.
