It was last November when we told you that Brad Pitt would be reuniting with Andrew Dominik (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) for the crime saga tale Cogan’s Trade. Another piece of the cast has recently been revealed by Deadline.
Sam Rockwell, who is gunning for an Oscar nomination for his performance in Conviction, has signed on to the project.
In this adaptation of the George V. Higgins novel (of The Friends of Eddie Coyle fame), Pitt plays Jackie Cogan, a professional enforcer who investigates a heist that takes place during a high stakes poker game held under the protection of the mob.
The picture will be a reunion of sorts: Rockwell last worked with Pitt and Dominik on Jesse James. Another co-star from that picture, Casey Affleck, has also been rumored as another possible member of the cast.
You can next see Sam Rockwell alongside Jonah Hill in The Sitter (arriving July 15, 2011) and co-starring with James Bond and Indiana Jones in Cowboys and Aliens (arriving July 29, 2011).
