Inside Pulse Wrestling WWE RAW Report – 01.10.2011: The Nexus Is Initiated

Reviews, Shows, Top Story, TV Shows

Welcome to Inside Pulse Wrestling’s Live Coverage of WWE Monday Night RAW!

We kick things off with the opening credits and the WWE Tag Team Champions. Tag Titles to open tonight! BUT FIRST! The Nexus is out attacking the Tag Team Champions! They get dispatched out of the ring and CM Punk is kind enough to apologize. Punk calls Nexus the most dominant force in the WWE today and they are even stronger. Punk tells them that he can give them the tools they need to make things happen and that CM Punk will show the way. Punk hopes that John Cena will give a teary-eyed “retirement” speech. Tonight, he will make a huge sacrifice when he initates himself as the new leader of Nexus. Not only that, they must prove to everyone that they deserve to be in the “new” Nexus.

David Otunga speaks for everyone saying that they would be honored. He calls forward Michael McGuillicutty and his task is to endure a Nexus style beatdown. After some tense moments, he eats some finishers. Afterwards, he gets carried up the ramp and we head to a commercial.

We’re back and we should know what time it is.

R-Truth v. Alberto Del Rio

It’s REMATCH TIME! Bell rings and we get Truth on offense. He collides with del Rio in the corner. Del Rio counters the corner punch and he scores a nearfall. Alberto is on offense right now, but here comes R-Truth with the spinning headscissors. The match spills out of the ring and Ricardo Rodrieguz catches R-Truth’s attention and this allows Alberto to beat the count.

Winner via countout: Alberto Del Rio
Grade: FTS

Alberto brags about winning tonight and he explains that he will win the Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania. He then tries to educate us about how Mexico has culture and good music. Too bad you can’t drink the water. We get the maraichi music and no Brock Lesnar to provide the entertainment.

Two weeks ago, Jerry Lawler was the victim of a heinous attack by the Miz.

We return to Jerry and Michael arguing with each other and the RAW GMail chimes in. “We Want J.R.” chants come about. The RAW GMail supports Michael Cole, even though he is a conceited, pompous, arrogant, self-centered, and the list goes on. Early April Fools from Michael Cole. Supposedly he’s the epitamy of manhood. Jerry Lawler interrupts the verbal blowjob that the GMail gave Michael Cole. Jerry asks Michael Cole to shut up, on behalf of the WWE Universe. Jerry calls Michael Cole a coward. Michael Cole reminds Jerry that if he touches Michael that he is fired. So, Jerry shuts the laptop and the GMail chimes off saying that Michael Cole is not a coward. The GMail books the Miz and Alex Riley against Jerry Lawler and Randy Orton.

Backstage, CM Punk gives Husky Harris the choice of taking belt lashes from the three members of Nexus. CM Punk finishes with eight or so lashes with good measure.

Daniel Bryan & Mark Henry v. Ted DiBiase & Tyson Kidd

Everyone is in the ring so let’s get kickin’! Daniel Bryan does just that before DiBiase sends him out of the ring. This allows for a double team by Kidd. DiBiase gets brought back in the ring for a two count. Tag to Kidd and DiBiase provides for a double team and they switch tags off and on. DiBiase is the legal man in and he works Bryan over a bit. Bryan takes DiBiase off his game and TAG to Mark Henry and he demolishes Kidd a bit. Henry gets caught and we get stereo dropkicks that doesn’t have any effect. World’s Strongest Slam by Henry finishes Tyson Kidd.

Winners: Mark Henry & Daniel Bryan
Grade: D-

Last week, Jacob Novak was eliminated from NXT. That nose…reminds me of Triple H.

Here comes the Big Show! The Big Show is happy to be back on RAW and he thanks the RAW GMail for letting him in tonight to discuss Wade Barrett. He’s gonna knock Wade Barrett out this Friday and that everyone is on notice because he is going to win the Royal Rumble. Cue the Nexus! CM Punk sends David Otunga down the ramp for his initation. He slaps Big Show and he waits for the beatdown. Big Show gives him one and he makes short work of him.

Recap of John Morrison v. The Miz from last week.

John Morrison v. King Sheamus

Sheamus positions Morrison on the ring apron delivering blow after blow. Cover gets two and Sheamus is PISSED! Morrison tries to get out of the headlock and he is successful. He sends Sheamus into the corner. Pillar to post we go and Sheamus runs into the corner. Flash Kick misses its mark, but Morrison lets Sheamus take himself out of the ring. One-arm plancha meets Sheamus’ knee and that has to be it for Morrison. Sheamus slams Morrison rib first on the steps before sending him back in the ring. Brogue Kick attempt…Morrison drops down and Sheamus kicks him in the back instead. Morrison gets positioned on the top rope and Sheamus is thinking superplex. Morrison is thinking steel post and Sheamus’ arm. Morrison scores with the running kick to the head and Morrison gets the three!

We recap what happened earlier tonight before heading to the back with CM Punk with Singapore Canes. He hands them to Slater and Gabriel and their task is to beat each other until he says stop. Punk screams for them to DO IT! It appears that they are going to hit CM Punk and he lets them. So they drop the Singapore Canes and walk out.

The first member of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2011 will be revealed…NEXT!

Commercials.

Jerry Lawler is in the ring to announce the first person inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2011. That man…Shawn Michaels. Interesting selection.

AND THE SHOWSTOPPER IS HERE! He hasn’t missed a beat. He’s handed a microphone and we get the chants of “One More Match”. Shawn doesn’t get a chance to speak as Alberto Del Rio makes an opportune moment to come out to the ring. He talks down at Shawn claiming that he gets cheered. We get the whole “I’m the future” spiel and how Shawn Michaels is history. It boils down to the Royal Rumble and HE’S gonna win the Royal Rumble. Shawn has some words for him…and it’s SWEET…CHIN…MUSIC. Who needs words when you’re Shawn Michaels?

The Miz and his Miz-itch complain about how Randy Orton is breathing down the Miz’s neck.

Meanwhile, Michael Cole is in the ring speaking before CM Punk interrupts him from atop the TitanTron. Seeing this is making me cringe. He is prepared to sacrifice himself to do the same. He’s gonna jump off the TitanTron. Of course he’s bluffing. Someone is behind him that looks like John Cena wearing a hoodie holding the pulley. We then recap the rest of Nexus beating themselves to prove that they want to be in the Nexus. CM Punk comes out to the ring to call everyone that believed that he was going to jump off the Tron was stupid. He doesn’t need to prove himself as he is the new leader of Nexus. John Cena is live via satellite calling CM Punk every name in the book. Why did Punk waste time initating everyone when Cena did so already, except for CM Punk. Cena wants Punk next week on RAW. Punk accepts. Cena promises that Punk will be DEALT WITH. It’s not about T-shirts and armbands, but about Cena kicking his ass.

The Miz & Alex Riley v. Jerry Lawler & Randy Orton

Lawler and Riley start things off and Riley calls Lawler an old man. Lawler wants the Miz and Riley beats down Lawler before tagging in the Miz. Sadly for the Miz, he eats a flurry of punches as the Miz gets taken to school. Miz gets sent into the ring steps and he walks into a forearm. Tag to Riley and he eats a bodyslam. Tag to Orton and he comes at Riley with uppercuts. Orton gets in the zone, but Riley telegraphs Orton. Tag to the Miz and the Miz can’t get anything going as Orton takes him down and brings Lawler back in the ring. Lawler walks into a big boot by the Miz and the tides turn on Lawler. Snapmare takedown by the Miz and he applies the headlock. Lawler gets back to his feet, but Miz continues to stay in control. Corner rush by the Miz and we’re taking a commercial break at 11:05pm.

Commercials.

We’re back at 11:08 and Riley runs into the ring post and Lawler goes the wrong way for a tag. Miz gets a distraction that prevents the referee from seeing the tag from Lawler. Miz dumps Orton, but Orton counters the Miz’s attempt of the Skull Crushing Finale on Lawler into a RKO. Lawler covers, but Riley breaks it up. Clean tags all around and Orton goes into the zone, dropping Riley with the 3.0 backbreaker. Riley goes onto the apron, but that allows Orton to get the Hangman DDT as the Miz tries to snake inside the ring, but the bigger snake catches him. Riley sneaks up behind Orton only to get RKO’ed. Tag to Lawler and Orton blocks the Miz as Lawler hits the fist drop for the pinfall.

Winners: Jerry Lawler & Randy Orton
Grade: B
