It was going to happen sooner or later, so the night of the Golden Globes is as good a night as any. Anne Hathaway will be a Gleek. Since early as November the actress has been angling her way to be on the show. She’s even gone as far as to assert her authority in letting Ryan Murphy know the role she’s going to play.
Murphy told PEOPLE on Sunday that the deal has been finalized for Hathaway to come onto the show.
The hit Fox series, which walked away with multiple honors for Best TV Show – Comedy or Musical and supporting honors for Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch last night, has attracted a number of quality guest stars in its first two years of being on the air. Neil Patrick Harris, Gwyneth Paltrow, Britney Spears, and John Stamos are but a few who have been “Glee-ified.”
Hathaway has already created her role. “She wants to play the lesbian aunt of Chris Colfer. Because everyone needs a lesbian aunt,” Murphy said.
Hathaway isn’t the only one who has approached Murphy about appearing on the series. He fielded a number of offers on Sunday, but would not name any names.
