Paul Daley To Fight For The Vacant BAMMA Welterweight Title

News

British welterweight Paul Daley will make his return to British soil on February 26th when he headlines BAMMA 5 against DEEP veteran Yuya Shirai. In taking the fight Daley puts at risk his status as the next challenger for the Strikeforce Welterweight Title, with Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker saying today that a loss at the event would cause “the deck to be reshuffled”.

BAMMA 5 is the promotion’s first show since its blockbuster Tom Watson vs. Alex Reid show on September 25th that set new records for a live MMA broadcast on British television. The event is confirmed for the Manchester Evening News Arena although there is as yet no word whether BAMMA have been able to fill the hole left by the closure of their former broadcast partner Bravo.
