With Academy Award nominations announced, it’s never too early to start gearing up for next year’s Oscar race. Over at Yahoo, the official trailer for The Conspirator has debuted. The film is a period drama about Mary Surratt (Robin Wright), the lone female charged as a co-conspirator in the assassination trial of Abraham Lincoln. While Robert Redford’s last outing as a director was a dud (Lions for Lambs), this has some potential. And that’s only looking at the cast list, which includes Tom Wilkinson, James McAvoy, Danny Huston, Evan Rachel Wood, and Kevin Kline among others,
The Conspirator is directed by Robert Redford, who won an Oscar for Ordinary People also directed such films as A River Runs Through It, Quiz Show, and The Horse Whisperer. Roadside Attractions will release The Conspirator in theaters on April 15th.
