Kue’s Korner: Allow Perfection to Grow; a look at Dolph Ziggler

Columns, Top Story

Good day, friends and fans of the grapple. Welcome to Kue’s Korner, where your humble, yet thought provoking, host Jonah Kue, dares to share his opinions on our wonderful world of wrestling. I do apologize if the column is a bit short today. It’s been some time since I’ve seen my fiance, and I’m a bit biased on spending my time with her tonight. I do hope you lovely people understand. Anyway, let’s open with some pre-column whoring, shall we?

There’s been a standout in the ring as of late. Of course, I’m not the first to point it out, as obviously he’s not only been recognized but fans, but also the company, since he’s in a World Title match this Sunday. I’m talking, of course, about Dolph Ziggler. Yep, the kid has the raw talent, and through the past two years, has honed his ability through feuds with Mysterio, MVP, and Daniel Bryan to name a few. But there’s just something missing from the package that is needed to make it total (please connote that as less homoerotic than it sounds): his time on the mic.

Vickie’s magnetism of heat is undeniable. But this is where it’s hurting more than helping. To those of you who haven’t picked up the routine of watching NXT this season, you’re missing out on some of the most natural mic work in the company coming from Ziggler. His impromptu comments and promos through the show are definitely considered a highlight. And honestly, he deserves much more promo time than he’s being given. Surely, there’s a way to balance Vickie and Dolph on the microphone. I’m looking at you, promo moderators.

So, here’s to hoping that the title match at the Rumble isn’t the last we’ll see of Mr. Ziggler in the main event scene. If it is, it would just be a wasted talent. And that never happens. Right?

Adieu.

I like my wrestling almost as much as I do my coffee. And I do love my coffee, as you can tell how much it's affected my skin tone.
