Many believe that Gossip Girl can’t exist without Ed Westwick’s Chuck Bass. And that might indicate that the show’s future is in jeopardy.
Ed Westwick has reportedly claimed that he is ready to move on from the show.
The actor, behind Chuck Bass, reportedly told Tatler that he does not think he can get anything more out of the character.
“It’s all about the work, you know,” he said. “The feeling you get when you connect to the work.
“And that’s what I had with Chuck Bass in the beginning – I was fascinated by him. But now, to be completely honest, I’m ready to do something else. Really ready to do something else.”
This is in addition to Leighton Meester recently hinting that the series will end after the seventh season (which is when the contracts of the current cast expire).
