Friday Night Lights Star Adrianne Palicki Is Wonder Woman

Casting News, News, Top Story

Last month NBC picked up David E. Kelley’s pilot for a live action Wonder Woman show, and Monday the title character was cast.

Friday Night Lights alumni Adrianne Palicki has been cast to play Diana Prince, Wonder Woman, according to Variety. She joins show runner David E. Kelley, and director Jeffrey Reiner (who was a co-executive producer on Friday Night Lights) will be handling the pilot itself.

Palicki was actually the villain in the ill-fated Aquaman pilot several years ago, that would have spun out of Smallville. She was also, more recently, a regular cast member on Lone Star, which, while critically acclaimed, was the first cancellation of the Fall 2010 television season due to low ratings (for that network and timeslot, at least). She’s also set to be one of the stars of the upcoming movie Red Dawn.

And according to Deadline, she was the only actress invited to test for the role.
