Abidal will have surgery to remove the tumor on Friday.
The team announced on their facebook page that defender Eric Abidal had a tumor on his liver and that he would have it removed on Friday.
The team didn’t say how long Abidal would be out, but it would appear likely that Abidal will miss at least Barcelona’s next game against Getafe.
The team will also be without forward Pedro Rodriguez, Defender Calos Puyol, while Lionel Messi is questionable, and defenders Dani Alves and Adriano are dealing with injuries that will make them game day decisions.
