The saga of the televising of Amir Khan’s defense of his WBA Light-Welterweight Title against unbeaten European Champion Paul McCloskey has finally been resolved with pay per view channel Primetime stepping in as the replacement as expected. The news was confirmed today on the channel’s Facebook. This move does however raise questions about the broadcasting of the fight as Primetime has previously relied on international fees from HBO or Showtime whereas Sky was able to act as a lead broadcaster. Equally it will be interesting to see what hype packages Primetime can put together at such short notice.
In any case Inside Fights will be covering Khan’s fourth title defense in-depth, including having a live reporter at the Manchester Evening News Arena on April 16th.
