Inside Pulse Best TV Character Tournament – Final Four Voting Begins

Features, Shows, Top Story

The Elite 8 round voting has ended and we now have our Final Four! This was actually the first round where there were NO upsets. But there still some close matchups. In the end, though, we are down to three #1 seeds and one unranked character. That same unranked character was the one that defeated the other #1 seed back in the early rounds of this tournament. So all in all, the seeding was pretty much dead on. But before we get to the Final Four, we first must break down the Elite 8 action!

The ABC region featured the closest matchup from this round. It looked like the #3 seed Michael Scott would defeat the #1 overall seed, Sheldon Cooper. But Sheldon got some late votes and that was enough to get the win by ONLY 1 vote!

The FOX region had no more upsets left as two unranked characters battled out for a spot in the Final Four. In the end, Marshal Eriksen pretty easily defeated Sam Axe. He won by 61% of the vote, and now Marshal will attempt to continue his upset ways by defeating another #1 seed in Sheldon in the Final Four.

The CBS region was pretty much the same thing. #1 seed Dexter beat #3 seed Michael Weston by 61% of the vote as well. So both Burn Notice characters are gone from this round, and both really didn’t even put up much of a fight.

Finally, the NBC region saw #1 seed Barney Stinson finally take out Eric Cartman. It was a close matchup as Barney only won by 5 votes. So credit to Cartman for lasting as long as he did. But that now sets up a #1 seed vs. #1 seed clash in the Final Four.

So looking at the overall Elite 8 round voting results. Two characters from How I Met Your Mother have made it to the Final Four. There is chance that Barney and Marshal could face each other in the Finals. That would definitely be quite a story. But Marshal will have to take down the overall #1 seed Sheldon Cooper and Barney, as the #3 overall seed, would have to defeat the #2 overall seed, Dexter Morgan. Both certainly have some tough matchups, if they want to face off against each other in the finals.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
