Thor Movie Post Credit Tease for Captain America & Avengers Movies? SPOILERS

News, Top Story

Looks like word is spreading about the post-credit Easter Egg that reveals a major plot point of the Captain America movie… which may not be a huge surprise? But, is there an Avengers movie tease in it as well?

If you don’t want to know, don’t read any further.

You.

Have.

Been.

Warned.

Spoilers follow.

In the scene Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) travels to New Mexico to meet with Dr. Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard). He is there to discuss recent discoveries Selvig has made regarding alternate universes. He is also there to get Selvig’s advice about a large metal case, which contains the Tesseract/Cosmic Cube. When Selvig asks what it is, Fury responds that it is a source of immense power. The camera than pans back to Selvig, and a reflection reveals that Selvig is now being possessed by Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who says: “That’s very interesting”.

This would be in line with the Captain America promos and teasers that show the Red Skull from the Captain America movie holding a / the Cosmic Cube. However, the cube in the Captain America movie would seem to be part of a historical narrative whereas the cube at the end of the Thor movie is very much in modern day. Interesting indeed. Does this mean that cube will be a plot point in the upcoming Avengers movie or is this Easter Egg to garner interest in the upcoming Captain America Movie? Or both?

Can we expect the Avengers movie to revolve around an alternate universe(s)? Looks like Loki (and some yet-to-be-named-friends) will be tangling with the Avengers? Hmmm.

We have no pics from the Thor movie post credit teaser at this time. However, please see below for a pic from the Captain America movie teaser.
