Earlier today, UFC officially confirmed the long-rumored “UFC Rio” as “UFC 134: Silva vs. Okami,” with the event taking place August 27th from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. The main event of the evening is a championship bout between Anderson Silva, UFC Middleweight Champion, and Yushin Okami. The fight is a rematch of from a 2006 Rumble on the Rock show at which Okami defeated Silva via disqualification due to an illegal upkick. Since that loss, Silva has won 14 consecutive fights, including a record eight consecutive UFC title defenses.
