DC Comics Announces Superman Beyond By Tom DeFalco

News

With Batman Beyond going ahead and proving that fans are still interested in the property, it can be seen as a stretch that DC might expand on that. After all, why have one cool alternate future book when you can have two? And then, if you have Batman, surely it couldn’t hurt to have Superman there as well, especially since he’s already established in that time line.

How could you make it even better?

By going and getting a creative team that has worked for your competitors for a while, who excel at alternate future stories, and who brings their own zealous fanbase.

I’m of course talking about the men behind the MC2 line at Marvel, I’m talking about Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz, and Sal Buscema. That’s right, the Spider-Girl creative team has come to DC.

Meet Superman Beyond.

So far it has just been announced as a one shot by the fan-favorite creative team, but I have little doubts in my mind that the combination of Superman, Batman Beyond, and the creative team that gave us Spider-Girl will lead to an ongoing series. One shot is in August, I’d expect the ongoing by January.
