Never Back Down 2 Trailer Debuts

Never Back Down wasn’t a massive hit but was in the black after grossing more than $40 million against a budget of half that. Thus, like anything that is a success in Hollywood, a sequel was green-lit. Thus comes Never Back Down 2: the Beatdown and a trailer from TwitchFilm.com.

Michael Jai White, making his directorial debut, stars alongside current UFC Light Heavyweight contender Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida as well as professional fighters Todd Dufee and Scott Epstein.

Plot Summary: Ex-boxer Zack (Alex Meraz), talented MMA fighter Tim (Todd Duffee), bullied record store clerk Justin (Scott Epstein), and wrestler Mike (Dean Geyer) come from very different backgrounds, but they share a passion for the “savage science” and quickly become loyal to their unorthodox trainer, Case (Michael Jai White), a brilliant ex-UFC Champion down on his luck.

Teaching them about much more than fighting, Case prepares the young men for a competition called the Beatdown, run by local college kid and fight impresario Max (Evan Peters). When their mentor gets set-up by some bad cops, the young men band together to root out a traitor in their midst.

Never Back Down 2: the Beatdown is scheduled for release June 10, 2011
