CBS Announces New 2011 TV Season Schedule; Night-by-Night Breakdown

News, Shows, Top Story

CBS has best the top rated network overall for the last decade. The majority of their new shows become “hit” shows and stick around longer than they would if they were on any other network. Therefore, CBS didn’t have a lot of holes to fill, but they still gave the green light to 2 new comedies and 4 new dramas. They also made a couple of dramatic time slot shifts, including one on SATURDAY?!? Here is a look at their new schedule:

10:00-11:00 PM — CSI: Miami

Of course, this lineup doesn’t include two mid-season shows, the returning Undercover Boss and new series, The 2-2. Two dramatic time shifts including moving The Good Wife from Tuesday night to primetime Sunday night against ABC’s Desperate Housewives, and more surprisingly moving long-time original CSI from its Thursday night “prime” spot to Wednesday nights. CBS must have HIGH hopes for Person of Interest to put it immediately against Grey’s Anatomy and The Office.
But the biggest surprise of all has to be the return to original programming on Saturday night. CBS decided to move Rules of Engagement to lead off a Saturday night filled with encores. The big question is will fans of that show follow it there or will it die an quick death?

Don’t be expecting Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, Mad Love, $#*! My Dad Says, or The Defenders to be on CBS, though, because they have ALL been cancelled!

Anything on here that YOU will be watching?

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
