Just in time for the season premiere of the new season of The Bachelorette, comes the news that the last Bachelor, Brad Womack has officially ended his engagement with Emily Maynard. That news should only surprise the handful of “true believers” left. Everyone else realizes that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have stopped being about finding “true forever love” and more about finding “love right now to make a name for ourselves” in recent years.
But back to the Emily and Brad news. Last week, Maynard was spotted in North Carolina without an engagement. Usmagazine.com is reporting that the 25-year-old single mother has given the engagement ring back to ABC, because they bought it and not Brad.
“It’s completely over now,” a source told US Magazine. “Emily is happy in Charlotte [North Carolina] and is not moving to Austin with [her 5-year-old daughter] Ricki. She is content.”
Yes, Emily was the one that broke things off with Brad, 38, and an owner of numerous bars in Austin, Texas.
“Brad keeps drunk-dialing her,” another source said. “Brad is such a loser.”
So will new Bachelorette Ashley Hebert, who finished third in Brad’s season, be able to overcome the odds and find true love? Doubtful, but her journey started tonight on ABC.
