When it comes to the end of the cinematic year, George Clooney usually saves his best for when it matters most. From an Oscar winning turn in Syriana to roles in tremendous fare like Up in the Air, Clooney is an awards favorite annually because he delivers. Next up is a turn in Alexander Payne’s The Descendants.
Plot Summary: Matt King (Clooney) must take hold of the parenting reigns after his wife becomes ill. He’s got a lot to deal with- both of his girls seem to resent him, especially his teenage daughter Alexandra (Shailene Woodley). Alexandra eventually reveals to her father that her mother has been cheating on him, sending his obligations into a hazy area of self doubt and resentment.
The Descendants is scheduled for release on December 16, 2011
