The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) Banned In Britain

News, Press Releases

The Human Centipede caused a lot of shock, despite not being remarkably shocking according to Inside Pulse Movies’ own Robert Saucedo, and now the sequel has done something fairly unprecedented from our friends at Empire Online.

It’s been banned in Britain.

The British Board of Film Classification has deemed the film unworthy of beign shown in England, citing its “sexually violent and potentially obscene” content. The DVD cannot be legally supplied anywhere in the UK. Visit Empire’s website for a full description of what caused them to not approve it if you have a strong stomach.

What does this mean? If you ever wanted to gift a film-maker advertising momentum and buzz the BBFC has just done it for The Human Centipede 2. Being able to advertise it abroad as “Banned in England” is going to give the film the sort of appeal that may be able to boost DVD sales and the odd box office revenue. People tend to be curious about films that have banned elsewhere in the same manner that banned books become that much more intriguing to pick up as a teenager.

Will this be Tom Six’s “Catcher in the Rye” in terms of hype? Possibly. If anything it’ll get him buzz and a boost in DVD sales, most likely, outside of the hardcore audience that sought the first film out.
