DC Comics Relaunch: Dan DiDio – JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA (JSA) Is Being Rested

News

Well, DC co-publisher Dan DiDio confirms why there is no Justice Society of America in the DC Comics Relaunch of 52 titles in September 2011. :(

“We have decided to rest this concept [JSA] while we devote our attention on the launch of the three new Justice League series. As for other characters and series not part of the initial 52, there are plenty of stories to be told, and we’re just getting started.”

However, what we will see in Grant Morrison’s Action Comics #1 (volume 2) and beyond may tell us where the JSA fits or doesn’t in the new DCU. Afterall, Superman is now “this world’s” first super hero. Where does that leave the JSA?

From two series, to one series, to no series in less than on year. Not a good way to treat Golden Age greats that ushered in the actual comic book business.
