DC Comics’ Suicide Squad: The Nightshade Odyssey & Justice League International X-Over Out Oct. 2011

Media, News, Top Story

As part of the DC Comics Relaunch a new ongoing Suicide Squad series is coming to comic shoppes near you and is, naturally, on my Top 19 from September 2011.

However, the first Suicide Squad series is on the Top 3 of my fave 1980’s reads! DC Comics is continuing to collect those issues in trade paperback (tpb). Now you can experience the ground-breaking series too!

Here is the full solicitation for the second of DC Comics collections from the classic Suicide Squad series.

In these stories from issues #7-12, the Squad is trapped in Russia. And before they escape, they’ll have to fight The People’s Heroes. Then, Batman discovers the existence of the Suicide Squad – and he’s not happy.

The first trade paperback from this classic run, Trial by Fire, remains available and would make a great addition to any comic book and tpb collection. Highly recommended.

Also, if you are interested, not only did a new Justice League debut (leading to the formation of the original Justice League International) at the end of the Legends mini-series, it also has the first appearance of the Suicide Squad headed by Amanda Waller (the powerful government agent played by Angela Bassett in the now showing Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds).

The Legends tpb is out-of-print, but is available in the secondary market at a comic con or a comic shoppe near you.
