Strikeforce: Overeem vs Werdum Draws Strong Viewers For Showtime

It may have disappointed many online fans but Strikeforce: Overeem vs Werdum drew strong viewing figures, with an average of 624,000 people watching the Showtime broadcast. This number is the second highest average for a Strikeforce show, with only Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva’s 741,000 viewers doing better. The audience peaked at 719,000 viewers. This continues a strong 2011 with four out of Strikeforce’s five biggest audiences on Showtime coming this year, although this is the first Showtime MMA event since Gina Carano vs Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos’ Summer 2009 fight to pull strong ratings without Strikeforce’s biggest draws Fedor Emelianenko or Nick Diaz.
