Gotham City Is Falling Down In The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Poster

News, Top Story

If anyone tells you that The Dark Knight Rises isn’t on their radar for 2012, well they are either lying or they have no interest in Batman. While this year’s Comic-Con won’t feature anything Dark Knight related from Christopher Nolan, fans should be plenty satisfied. We’ve already gotten an early peek at Tom Hardy as Bane, one of the villains in the film. Amateur footage shot from the production has also shown up online. And the casting announcements (like Anne Hathaway as Catwoman) have provided a lot of discussion points.

Even while the film is in production, Warner Bros. is amping up the advertising this week as the studio releases the final installment of the Harry Potter franchise into theaters. Over at the official website for The Dark Knight Rises the teaser poster has been revealed.

Such a brilliant teaser poster, it’s almost easy to overlook the silhouette image upon first glance. It does it’s job, giving us a glimpse of what is to be expected in Christopher Nolan’s final film in his Dark Knight trilogy.

The Dark Knight Rises returns Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine to Gotham City. This time they will be joined by Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Matthew Modine, Tom Conti, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, and Josh Stewart. Nolan will be using IMAX technology extensively and Hans Zimmer is once again scoring the last chapter in what has already been an impressive saga.

A teaser trailer is expected to hit this week online and in front of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2. The film will hit theaters on July 20, 2012.
