Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Tom Cruise has settled on his next project: an adaptation of the novel “One Shot” by Lee Child where he’d play the protagonist Jack Reacher.
In the book, Reacher investigates a case in which a lone sniper murders five victims before being captured. Reacher discovers it’s more than a simple open-and-shut case. There might be one problem, though: in the book Reacher is 6’5 250lbs and Cruise is no where neither of those.
What does this mean? If the script is good one imagines that with a few changes Cruise could step in to the role without fans of the novel being too upset about the size discrepancy. Cruise is very careful with the projects he’s been picking lately and if he’s willing to take a role like this there has to be something strong, script wise, he sees in it.
