Leading up to the release of Captain America: The First Avenger this weekend, Marvel Comics has already started to gear up for its summer 2012 slate, which includes The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man.

Yesterday, bootleg versions of both trailers were leaked before being pulled. You won’t have to wait long to see the teaser for The Avengers as it will play following the end credits of Captain America.

As for The Amazing Spider-Man it will be attached to a number of prints showing Captain America this weekend. Or you could just watch it now.

While it begins with a tone similar to Tron: Legacy, the teaser is out to prove that this is a darker, edgier Spider-Man origin story. Marc Webb, of (500) Days of Summer acclaim, directs, while Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) stars as the lanky outsider Peter Parker, with Emma Stone playing his first love, Gwen Stacy. The last sequence will either leave you floored or make you roll your eyes.

Columbia Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man also stars Rhys Ifans (Pirate Radio) as Dr. Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben Parker, Sally Field as Aunt May and Denis Leary as George Stacy. The screenplay is co-written by Alvin Sargent (who previously penned Spider-Man 2 & 3), Steve Kloves (of Harry Potter fame) and James Vanderbilt (The Rundown, The Losers) at various stages in the development process.

Columbia Pictures brings Spider-Man back to the big screen next summer on July 3, 2012.
