Bloody Disgusting has posted a new theatrical trailer for Lucky McKee’s adaptation of Jack Ketchum’s book, The Woman. The controversial film will have a limited theatrical release on October 14, 2011, just in time for Halloween. Our own Jenny Rebekah was lucky enough to see this at the Texas Frightmare Weekend back in May, and gave the movie a glowing review.

Here is the official synopsis of The Woman, according to Bloody Disgusting:

“Family man and lawyer Christoper Cleek (Sean Bridgers) must do what he can to protect his family when he comes into contact with a feral woman (Pollyana McIntosh) living in the woods near his isolated country home. Through a series of harrowing encounters Cleek and his family quickly discover there is more to this woman than anyone would suspect and that sometimes the devil wears a handsome face.

It’s films like these that deserve a bigger audience. In a year that has been relatively slow for horror films, The Woman looks like a great addition for gorehounds. It’s too bad this is only getting a limited release. Hopefully that just means we’ll be able to get it on Blu-ray quicker.
