Chicago has turned down Linebacker Lance Briggs’ request for a raise, so Briggs is requesting a trade from the team.
“The Bears made their decision, now I have to make mine,” Briggs told the Chicago Tribune Thursday. “It’s just how the business works. It’s not going to take away from what I do on the field. I’m 100 percent a Bear, until I’m not a Bear anymore.”
Briggs has 3-years remaining on his previous 6-year deal, but thinks he’s worth more than $4 million over the next two years and $6 million the last. He was originally going to ask for a trade after the season, but after speaking to the General Manager Sunday, decided to do so now.
