Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis Join Sly Stallone In Expendables 2

Casting News, News, Projects, Top Story

With the entire cast returning, as well as Donnie Yen being potentially added to the mix, two more big names have gone from being rumored to confirmed for the film (outside of the rumored additions of other big stars):

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis

The former governor of California and the star of Die Hard have closed deals to star in the film per Deadline Hollywood. The trio briefly had parts together in the first, with Willis taking the role of the man behind their mission in Mr. Church with Schwarzenegger as a rival to Stallone as Trent Mauser. The roles for the two are going to be much more substantial this time; Willis will have two weeks on the set before filming Die Hard 5 and is rumored to be this film’s villain (or close to it).

What does this mean? I loved the first and the sequel is something I’m genuinely excited for. After the response received to having all three in the same film, the question would seem to turn to “What could they do with all three in big parts, not just Stallone?” Apparently we’re going to find out.

What do you think? Are the big three of action needed in substantial roles? Or was once enough? Let us know what you think below.
