Some may recall that last August Joseph Gordon-Levitt made some news when he crashed into a taxi cab window on the set of Premium Rush, a new thriller from writer/director David Koepp. JGL, who has made quite the transition from child actor (Angels in the Outfield, TV’s 3rd Rock From the Sun) to star in such films as The Lookout and (500) Days of Summer. But it may have been his involvement with Christopher Nolan’s Inception where he gained a new set of fans. (Zero-G action sequences will do that for you.)

Soon the actor will be seen in 50/50 (hitting theaters on September 30th). After that is this thriller, Premium Rush. This first trailer, which has all the bells-and-whistles of an adrenaline-fueled thriller, has JGL playing a NYC bike messenger trying to elude authorities, including a dirty cop played by Michael Shannon, in hot pursuit. Premium Rush arrives in theaters on January 13, 2012.
