District Posters For The Hunger Games Debut – No Sign of Jennifer Lawrence
by Scott "Kubryk" Sawitz on October 5, 2011

The Hunger Games is encouraging fans of the book, and the upcoming film, to get involved. How so? By joining the individual districts to show your allegiance to the 74th Hunger Games. So far the Facebook pages only have the banner posters for each district and a welcome message; there are identification pass photos posted for some of the fans in each of the districts.

The sample message reads: “Citizens of Panem: Welcome to the official Facebook community for District 9, Panem. The Capitol applauds your vigilance and looks forward to seeing you all at the 74th Hunger Games. Take a break from harvesting and put a face to your name. Show us your DIPs!”

Plot Summary: In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in the Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidations of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch.
