The Mentalist takes a trip down memory lane in “Pretty Red Balloon,” as Jane comes to the aid of former client–a woman who still believes Jane is psychic. While he isn’t, Jane pulls off a the psychic act when it matters, and Simon Baker gets to show us the full range of his acting for a bit.
The team is also involved in a shooting incident, and we see how things aren’t quite right. Lisbon is somewhat hesitant to confront the shooter while Van Pelt is extra eager. Nothing is necessarily wrong, but these changes should be a good thing to explore in the future.
