The suits at Warner Bros. must have watched an early cut or viewed enough dailies and saw something they liked with Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the studio’s big Christmastime release starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law and directed by Guy Ritchie. The studio has gone ahead and assigned the writing duties of a third Sherlock Holmes movie to Drew Pearce.
Pearce is currently working on the script for Iron Man 3 with Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang).
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows gets to cracking the case on December 16, 2011.
Iron Man 3 is slated to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.
