Thirteen months from now we’ll be looking at a very impressive December slate of films. Beyond The Hobbit and Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained is Tom Hopper’s follow-up to his Oscar-winning The King’s Speech. After that film’s success he could have had any project he wanted. The project he picked is a Broadway adaptation of Les Miserables.
Based on Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel, the Broadway musical had one of the longest runs for a musical, originally opening in 1985.
Eddie Redmayne, who will be seen opposite Michelle Williams in the upcoming release My Week with Marilyn, will play the part of Marius, Deadline reports.
He is the latest to join the talented ensemble that includes Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway.
Redmayne’s My Week with Marilyn opens on November 23rd.
Les Miserables is scheduled to hit theaters on December 7, 2012.
