Covert Affairs – Episode 2-12 Review – “Uberlin”

Reviews

While on assignment in Berlin, Annie Walker tries to turn a former Stasi agent and money launderer’s wife (Nina Kronjager) into a CIA asset while also tracking down the assets husband and simultaneously keeping tabs on Arthur (Peter Gallagher) who has a clandestine past with this asset.

The Augie subplot is tragic and beautiful but really needs to be expanded upon. This was definitely a story worth giving a whole episode to.

Arthur and Joan Campbell’s mix of marriage and work lead to some high drama, but the trust issues between the two have been done to death and I hope they manage keep things moving forward for the CIA power couple.

It’s great to see Annie’s sister Danielle (played wonderfully by Anne Dudek) back in the picture. Annie’s home life is an important aspect of the show, without her the show would be standard espionage fare.
