Flash Expansion Announced For DC Universe Online
by Grey Scherl on November 17, 2011

The game may have gone free to play, but that doesn’t mean that Sony has pulled the plug. Today Sony announced the second expansion for DC Universe Online, “Lightning Strikes”, which will introduce new heroes, villains, areas, and a power set – lightning. The pack will be coming later this year, and while it will cost $9.99 to those playing for free or under a premium plan, it will be free for Legendary subscribers.

The new area is Central City in the past, as the new duo will apparently send you back in time to the origin of Barry Allen…to replace him in it. On top of the playable Central city, Heroes will have to contend with the Rogues, while villains will have to deal with the Titans (including Static). The Flash Museum will also apparently be explorable.

The new powerset, electricity, is actually slated to be a healing and support class, curiously enough.

Despite not really being high on the radar, I’ve actually enjoyed my time in DCUO…even if I haven’t played in a few months. I keep thinking about getting back in, so hey, why not? I’ll give this a shot.

I jumped on when it went free and picked up the GL DLC and a few character pieces. The game is actually a lot of fun and very addicting. If you’re a graphics lover then it definitely will fail, or someone who wants a Skyrim experience. However, I’ve gotten several friends to join and each one is having a blast when we just wanna go in, do a series of missions and end up kicking some hero/villians butt.
look up Summerhavock on a PvE server.
