After Patty Jenkins (Monster) left the project due to creative differences Marvel Studios was left scrambling to find a replacement. The studio has decided to go with Alan Taylor, who was one of the top candidates on its short list. Taylor, who has an impeccable stint as a TV director, having helmed such shows as Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire, is taking the reigns to have the film ready for its November 15, 2013 release.
The sequel will be actor Chris Hemsworth’s third stint as the hammer-wielding hero, after the Kenneth Branagh-directed original and the upcoming summer 2012 release of The Avengers.
