The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Trailer To Debut Exclusively In Front Of The Hunger Games

News

Twi-Hards will have to buy a ticket to see the new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, apparently, as Summit Entertainment and Lions Gate are going to attach the trailer only to prints of The Hunger Games. That’s according to the L.A Times, which first reported that here.

In an age where online copies of a trailer often precede their equivalent in theatres, it’s an interesting decision.

What does it mean? If Summit and Lions Gate are worried about getting a big first week box office number for The Hunger Games, then getting Twilight fans to purchase a ticket to see the trailer ala Star Wars Episode 1 back in the day isn’t a horrible move. In an era where online piracy and bootleg copies of the trailer mean that it’ll be up within hours of The Hunger Games debuting in theatres, it’s an interesting step to try and boost receipts for what should be the biggest film of the spring.

What do you think? Disappointed to see that the trailer won’t arrive online ahead of theatres? Or does this make you more inclined to go see The Hunger Games as well? Let us know below.
