TRIO Watch: Four Fantastic Images Of John Byrne’s New IDW Super-Hero Book Including Issue 2 Covers

News, Top Story

As we march closer to John Byrne’s TRIO 1 from IDW hitting stands in May 2012, we are seeing even more art. We know that TRIO is made up of three (3) super-powered characters (human, aliens, who knows?) with “code names [that] are simpl[y] ONE, TWO and THREE, but the world calls them ROCK, PAPER and SCISSORS.

New art reveals include both covers to issue 2 (although a bit incomplete), the variant cover for issue 1 inked by legend Joe Sinnott, plus another interior penciled and inked interior page.

Cover 2A has the character at its centre pixelated. Is this the team’s friend or foe? We also see Cover 2B with half just penciled by John Byrne and the other half inked by legendary inker Tom Palmer. The series will feature variant B covers inked by various legendary inkers.

This is on top of four other fantastic images we’ve already seen: Cover 1A, the penciled and inked first page to TRIO 1, the colored first page to TRIO 1, and another black and white interior showing John Byrne creative flat portrayal of TRIO’s “Paper” heroine.

And, just to wrap up all that we know about TRIO, here’s the solicit for issue #1 that was unveiled recently:

    Trio #1

ZAP! POW! BAM! — are sound effects you may actually see in this series, as John Byrne returns to his roots with a brand-new superhero series. Their code names are simple ONE, TWO and THREE, but the world calls them ROCK, PAPER and SCISSORS. Together, they are Trio.

Looking forward to this. Looks like super-hero “fun”. :)
