Is the WWE Network Already In Trouble? Vince McMahon Addresses His Investors

News

Last week, WWE held its quarterly conference call with investors. As reported by PW Torch, one of the two big stories coming out of the call is WWE remaining vague about the latest plans for its WWE Network launch that was scheduled to launch in April 2012. Despite being grilled by investors of the Network, WWE couldn’t give any clear answers on a project that is budgeted for $35-50 million in 2012.

Asked about a potential launch date, WWE CEO Vince McMahon said, “Launch sometime this year. No specific date.” Vince also said WWE is in negotiations with cable systems and that they “want to get it right when we launch.” However, there is an ominous sign here when Vince said the Network will launch “in one form or another” this year.
