Cody Rhodes Reaches Professional Milestone

News

WWE.com has posted a new article noting that as of today, March 1, 2012, Cody Rhodes has held the Intercontinental Title for 202 days. Rhodes joins the likes of The Rock, Mr. Perfect and Shawn Michaels, all of whom held the title for a similar amount of time. In the modern era (after the end of The Rock’s IC title reign), only Shelton Benjamin and Randy Orton have held the belt longer.

Rhodes won the IC title when he defeated Ezekiel Jackson on the August 12th, 2011 edition of WWE SmackDown.

Quick Quip: Obviously such champions of yesteryear like Pedro Morales, Randy Savage and of course The Honky Tonk Man have all held the belt for over 400 days, so Cody still has some catching up to do. Also it’s not like he’s defending the title every night although the addition of the championship to his match with Big Show at WrestleMania is a nice step in the right direction.
