Kim Dotcom’s Assets To Be Returned On Technicality

News

Kim “Dotcom” Schmitz, the founder of Megaupload, will have his assets returned to him after a procedural error.  An error in court documentation in New Zealand will force authorities to return millions of dollars in property that were seized from Dotcom in the wake of Megaupload’s closure.  However, it’s a longshot that he will ever actually see any of the property again, and he is also facing 20 years in prison for the charges associated with the seizure.  The Megaupload site hosted millions of illegally uploaded music files during its years of existence.
