Jake Shields Moving Back to Middleweight Division in UFC

News

With his UFC run at 170 lbs. not going as he probably planned, former Strikeforce Middleweight champion will be moving back up division for his next fight. Earlier in his career, Shields did see success in the lower weight class, earning wins over the likes of Paul Daley and Carlos Condit, but with losses to Jake Ellenberger and Georges St-Pierre at welterweight, Shields knows that the time for a change is now.

Smart move for Shields, especially if he is feeling particularly weak from the weight cut. Only time will tell how effective he can be at middleweight.
