While the WWE universe was starting to cool down from the fall out from WrestleMania 28, UK distributor Silver Vision dropped a big match listings announcement for WWE’s upcoming ECW release. What was originally going to be a three-disc DVD compilation of the 25 best matches in ECW history instead has become a compilation of unreleased matches (at least under the WWE label).
First revealed at Joey Styles’ Facebook account ECW: Unreleased Vol. 1 has many great encounters featuring the likes of Rob Van Dam, Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Sabu, Shane Douglas, Tommy Dreamer and Taz when he didn’t need the extra ‘Z’. To be released on June 5, 2012 on both DVD and Blu-ray, the compilation has memorable matches from PPV and TV, including 5 ECW World Heavyweight Championship matches, 3 ECW World Television Championship matches, plus a Tables and Ladders match.
