Marvel Regains Top Sales Spot, but DC’s Position Remains Strong

News

I don’t usually talk a lot about sales figures.  To me, sales figures only matter when books I love get cancelled.  But as soon as I saw March 2012’s sales figures, I figured I had to  post before the “net narrative” gets their hands on it.

Justice League finally has slipped from the top slot, for the first time since it was Relaunched in September.  In fact, it’s estimated that Avengers Vs X-Men #1 sold over 200K copies which is impressive.   And Marvel also manages to get Avengers Assembled into the top ten.

I have already seen people on line now calling DC Relaunch a failure and a flash in the pan because of this spike…but when you look at the numbers, that really doesn’t hold up.

Aquaman still outsells just about book Marvel is putting out, and Marvel couldn’t land a book that wasn’t X-Men, Spider-Man, or Avengers in the top 30.

I really think this month was a strong month of comic sales for both sides.
