News, PPVs, Top Story

Below are snapshot results of the TNA Lockdown PPV that was held yesterday (Sunday 4/16/12) in Nashville, Tenn. and featured the long-awaited TNA Heavyweight Championship match between Bobby Roode and James Storm:

Match 1. Team Garrett Bischoff def. Team Eric Bischoff (Lethal Lockdown): Garrett won with a guitar shot to Eric followed by the pin. Eric Bischoff is fired from TNA and can no longer use the Bischoff name.

Match 2. TNA tag champs Samoa Joe and Magnus def. the Motor City Machineguns (cage match): The Guns finisher was cut off, Joe and Magnus countered with their double-team move and scored the victory.

Match 3. TV champ Devon def. Robbie E. (w/Robbie T.) (cage match): Devon won with a spinebuster.

Match 4. Knockouts champ Gail Kim (w/Madison Rayne) def. Velvet Sky (cage match): Gail retains with a roll-up pin on Velvet following a Madison Rayne distraction.

Segment: Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan: Flair and Hogan go back and forth in a promo that went absolutely nowhere in one of the most pointless segments ever. Flair was mad about Bischoff being fired, Hogan didn’t care, and both were just mentally and emotionally checked out as far as they could be from where they were.

Match 5. Crimson def. Matt Morgan (cage match): Morgan sold a knee injury and got hung up in the ropes to enable Crimson to climb over the top of the cage and down to the floor for the win.

Match 6. Jeff Hardy def. Kurt Angle (cage match): Match of the night. Hardy won with a Swanton Bomb from the top of the cage onto Angle that led to the pin and the win.

Match 7. Knockouts tag champs Eric Young and ODB def. Rosita and Sarita (cage match): ODB chugs liquid courage and scores the pin after getting angry at Rosita and Sarita for flirting with EY.

Match 8. TNA World Heavyweight champ Bobby Roode def. James Storm (cage match): The end came when Storm nailed the Superkick on Roode forcing Bobby through the cage door and to the outside floor to score the “unorthodox” win. Roode needed medical attention and Storm sold anger and disappointment after the match to close the PPV.
