“I’m Gotham’s reckoning.” Those are the words of Bane, the villain in a film has been built up as the epic conclusion to the Dark Knight legend. It all comes to an end this summer, on July 20, 2012. This third and final trailer from Warner Bros. begins subdued, slowly building to the problems that plague Gotham City with Batman in seclusion. Early comments about this trailer have been mixed, but I look at it as trying to emphasize the poignancy of the character more so than the anarchy that we will get in droves. Christian Bale once again dons the cape as Batman, with Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine round out the supporting cast.
Hope is Lost. Faith is Broken. A Fire Will Rise.
Check out the third and final trailer to The Dark Knight Rises below.
The Dark Knight Rises takes place eight years after the events The Dark Knight, with Batman in seclusion and the arrival of terrorist leader Bane in Gotham City. Bane’s actions pushes the Gotham police force to such limits that the Caped Crusader must resurface to stop the anarchy. But is it enough?
The Dark Knight Rises once again in theaters on July 20th, 2012.
